‘garden and sea’ weekend house by takao shiotsuka atelier

the ‘garden and sea’ weekend house by takao shiotsuka atelier sits on a deep lot, which directly faces the sea. the home is wedge shaped, widening out toward the sea. the ground level is designed to maximize use of the garden, which is completely covered in white gravel and enclosed by the lot’s fence, making it feel like a room on its own. the top floor is designed to capitalize on the wide sea vistas. a large window fills the entire wall of the front room which is used for living and dining. furthermore, a glass wall separates the sunroom and kitchen, carrying the view even further
